A fresh 48 newborn session at Akron City Hospital in Ohio with Callum, Part 2

This year an idea struck me, and I decided it was time to run with it. I felt a cause, a pull and a strong desire to tell more stories of women after birth.

Real stories.

I started the Postpartum Passion Project to bring awareness and document the moments women have hidden from society for years.

The mesh panties.

The ice packs and spray bottles.

The reality of being exposed and vulnerable...in so many ways.

I had no idea any of this was coming after my first baby.

And I think many (okay how about MOST!) Moms don’t that first time around.

While I want to highlight both the darker and lighter moments, I also just want to show how beautiful they are.

We don’t have to dread these mesh panties and look at them with disgust.

We don’t have to be embarrassed or ashamed.

And most important, we don’t have to feel alone.

Because even Princess Kate is wearing the mesh panties after birth.

I want women to feel like warriors. Brave and empowered after delivery. Not scared and confused and destroyed.

If you’re in the Northeast Ohio area and EXPECTING a baby and interested in working with me on this project, I would LOVE to hear from you.

When I discussed this idea with this Mom, she was all in. I had already seen her completely in the nude during maternity photos, which you can go see HERE, so I think she kind of figured, I mean, what is there to lose?!

She didn’t want to leave the rest of the family out, so she decided to also do a full Fresh 48 to include her husband and other two children, and you can go see that part of our session HERE.

Now, I want to share with you a few of the images I took of Mom and her third sweet, chunky baby boy.

The best part? You can capture these intimate moments with your baby, and your comfort level is up to you. Breastfeeding, nursing bra or nightgown? Totally fine! Skin to skin photos are so important, and so special. And you can not only have THESE photos, but photos of the entire family as well. Best of both worlds.

Now, I want to share with you what Mom said on a comment under one of her photos when I posted them on Instagram…

”This session was THE BEST DECISION EVER!!! Absolutely my most cherished photos. I am flooded with emotions every time I look at them, and they make me wish I could relive those first days with our littlest baby over and over.”

Are these photos for everyone? Certainly not! And that is okay! I get it! These are raw and intimate. And they can involve varying levels of exposure and openness. But, if something here struck a chord with here, intrigued you or interested you and you are expecting this year and delivering in the Northeast Ohio area…I would love to hear from you.

I would love to tell you about how I can help tell you and your baby’s story through one of these sessions and document one of the most transformational experiences and moments in your life as a woman and Mother.

Let’s talk. I can’t wait to hear from you.
