Archer outdoor fall maternity session in Cleveland, Ohio

Everyone loves fall photos in Ohio. I get it. The leaves, the color, the change in the air is crisp. People go nuts for fall in general anymore in this area. But, let me be honest. I’m a summer gal. I like fall, but it’s always a little bittersweet to me because I know winter is coming. And I am NOT into winter in Ohio. Plus, while so many love fall for photos, it can be incredibly difficult to time the changing of the leaves. Weather is unpredictable, and that can mean the leaves turn in early October, or sometimes late, or sometimes even closer to November! It can mean they last weeks, or they can be gone in 10 days if we get a big storm with a lot of wind.

Now that I’ve said all that, knowing how tricky timing can be, we got the best light, a gorgeous warm sunset, and some seriously kick ass colors for this outdoor fall maternity session here in Cleveland.

We still had some green, but the pops of color that popped up in between in the warm sun were so beautiful.

Mom wore a beautiful dress from Altr’d State and had a gorgeous braid. If you’re trying to figure out hair for your session, add in some fun texture with braids ALWAYS photographs well, and if you can’t do them, I highly recommend going to get your hair done before your session! You won’t regret the extra splurge, and not having the stress of having to do it yourself on photo day. There is a Drybar in Legacy Village in Cleveland, or many salons also offer braids and blowouts as well.
