Adam & Mandi cozy, intimate, couples studio session in Medina, Ohio

Years ago when I first began my photography business, I offered any type of session I could, in order to learn what I loved and what I was good at. For the first few years, I photographed weddings and engagement sessions. So I’ve had my experience working with many couples over the years, whether they are newly engaged, dating, just married, expecting a baby, or showing up with a big, crazy ass family!

But there is a type of session, after the engagement photos and wedding, that people seem to forget is even an option!

A couples session, SANS KIDS!

There are many reasons why couples who have been married would want to have a cozy, intimate session alone without their children involved. While they can be in the studio or outdoors, in this one, I’m going to show you an example of a relaxed studio one.

In this blog post, I'd like to share my perspective on why these types of sessions are so valuable.

1.Reconnect and focus on each other, even if it’s just for the day

When you have children, it's easy for your focus to shift away from your relationship with your spouse and onto your role as a parent. Taking some time to have a cozy, intimate session together can help you reconnect and focus on each other. It's a chance to remember the reasons why you fell in love in the first place and to strengthen your bond as a couple. I know, this all sounds a bit cliche or corny, but it’s kind of true! Having time alone, being close (even though I’m the third wheel with a camera in your face) can be a great bonding experience.

2.Celebrate your love and connection in a unique way

As time goes by, it's easy to forget the moments that brought you together and the reasons why you decided to get married. A cozy, intimate studio session is a way to celebrate your love and connection and to create new memories together. It's a chance to capture the unique spark that you share as a couple and to celebrate your commitment to each other. After all, there is a reason why people have vow renewals, right?!

3. Forget the TJ MAXX generic wall art, adorn your home with timeless, beautiful images of YOU TWO

When you have a cozy, intimate studio session with your spouse, you'll be able to create timeless, beautiful images that you can cherish for years to come. These images will capture the essence of your relationship and showcase the love and connection that you share. You can use these images to decorate your home, to share with loved ones, or to simply look back on and remember the special moments that you shared.

4. Escape from the chaos of everyday life, because when you have kids, you need an excuse to do that

Life can be hectic, (two baseball games and one dance recital today, sure sounds like a GREAT FUN SATURDAY) especially when you have children. A cozy, intimate studio session is a chance to escape from the chaos of everyday life (and your kids let’s be real) and to focus on each other. It's a chance to slow down, take a breath, and simply be present with your spouse. Do I even need to spell this one out and explain why? You’ve got kids…YOU KNOW WHY!

If at the beginning of this blog post you were suspicious on why you would ever want to do one of these, and you know are thinking you’re kind of on board…feel free to hit the BOOK NOW button and shoot me an email! I would love to have you at my studio (located on historic public square downtown in Medina, Ohio) for you and your lover to get some super intimate, beautiful, artistic images. Plus, I’m happy to make reccomendations on where to go grab drinks and food after the session (which is what these two did!) because the location of the studio is right in the middle of some seriously AMAZING places to stop in. So not only should you get dressed up (or dressed down) and come for photos, but then make a whole fun day of it and just ENJOY.

PS - how much do we love the tattoos, the lips are actually HER lips he had tattooed on him, which might be the coolest tat I’ve ever seen!
