The Bandy Family Creek Session in Cuyahoga Valley National Park
I seriously adore this session and all of it's imperfections. Mom is a fellow photographer, and because they drove over an hour to get to me, we shot through some crazy weather and one of the kids became ill during the session. Despite that, we made it work! I think it just added into the messy chaos and beautiful overall story and look of the images!
We spent a good 20 or 30 minutes under some trees during a thunderstorm mid session, waiting out the pouring rain so we could finish. Which is why you may notice some wet hair ;) But again, I love the look of storm clouds and I love messy imperfection, so while it made it a bit more chaotic, I still love all of the genuine connection here with this family.
We chose one of my favorite little spots outside of Akron, that has plenty of woods and trees and one of the neatest little creeks that I love to be able to take kids to play and splash around in. This was one of those super hot summer nights, which are the perfect time for water and stream photos, some of my favorite. Throwing rocks and exploring can be a good prompt and way to entertain kids who get restless and bored. Not to mention I was pretty lucky last summer and a tree had fallen in a perfect spot for photos for me, with overgrown greenery to each side.
While it's taken me months to blog this, I am so excited to get back outside for family sessions this year. It's the end of April but I am currently booking for FALL as of right now! So if you want a session with me sometime between August and October outside, please feel free to hit the contact tab up in the top right corner to email me and I would be happy to give you more information! :)
